In Part 1, we covered the location, historical value, and Persian architectural features of “Shiraz Traditional Hotel.” This hotel is located in the heart of Shiraz’s old town with excellent access to major tourist attractions. It’s a boutique hotel converted from the “Rashedi Historic House,” a cultural heritage site with 250 years of history, creating a charming space that captivates visitors.
In Part 2, I’ll provide detailed information about the room I actually stayed in, the beauty found in its details, and the convenient services the hotel offers.
The Outstanding VIP Double Room
For this stay, I chose the “VIP Double Room” on the top floor. At 50 euros per night, it’s slightly more expensive than other rooms, but my thinking was “if you’re staying at a boutique hotel, you should choose the most beautiful room possible.” Given Iran’s generally low cost of living, this choice was absolutely right.

The moment I stepped into the room, I was speechless at its beauty. When I saw the photos on the website, I wondered “these look like paintings,” but indeed, the room had a painting-like space spread before me.

The colorful space makes your heart dance with joy
The room’s main feature is undoubtedly the colorful stained glass windows. These are called “Orsi,” characteristic windows of Persian architecture featuring geometric patterns and colored glass. When morning sunlight streams through, the entire room is painted in rainbow colors, reminiscent of the famous Pink Mosque interior. When I woke up and saw this sight, I was so captivated by its beauty that I couldn’t move from bed for a while.

The room is spacious, featuring not only a king-size bed but also a small kitchenette. While decorated with traditional elements, it also offers modern comfort. With heating and cooling fans installed, you don’t need to worry about Shiraz’s hot summers or cold winters.
The walls were decorated with beautiful green ornaments, and I was surprised to discover these weren’t artificial plants but real ones! This attention to detail is impressive.

Blue-coordinated tableware and natural green plants create a pleasant balance
The large mountain painting hanging above the bed was also impressive. When I first saw it, I couldn’t help asking “Is that Mount Fuji?” The owner, Jalal, chuckled and told me, “No, that’s Mount Damavand near Tehran.”

The humid landscape makes it somewhat resemble Mount Fuji
When I looked a bit embarrassed, he laughed and said, “Don’t worry about it. These two mountains are so similar that even Iranians sometimes confuse them.” According to the owner, there’s quite a funny story about the confusion between Mount Fuji and Mount Damavand.
Spectacular Courtyard View from the Window
The privilege of the 1st floor VIP Room is the beautiful courtyard view that spreads before you when you open the window. The Persian garden scenery that unfolds the moment you open the curtains in the morning is truly like a painting. With the stone pool at the center, neatly arranged plantings, and surrounding room tiles and carved wooden window frames harmonizing together, it creates a picture-perfect frame.

The view from the room window is also wonderful
While traveling, we tend to focus on efficiently visiting tourist spots, but this hotel makes the stay itself an experience. I made it a habit to spend 30 minutes by the window each morning before going out. The time spent drinking tea while gazing at the courtyard from the window is truly luxurious.

At night, I made it my routine to open the window and organize the photos I’d taken that day while gazing at the illuminated courtyard. The evening hours spent drinking Iranian beer (actually a sweet carbonated drink made with malt) are also good travel memories.
What makes this hotel wonderful is its charm that makes you think “I don’t want to leave this room.” Unlike typical hotels, it’s not just “a place to sleep” but a space where the stay itself can become the purpose of travel.
Multiple Optional Services
The hotel’s appeal isn’t just its beauty – it also offers numerous services that travelers appreciate. Particularly noteworthy is the transportation service to tourist sites. They arrange round-trip transportation to the World Heritage sites of Persepolis and Naqsh-e Rustam, located about 60km from Shiraz, for just $10 round trip! For a journey that takes about 6 hours total, this price is incredibly reasonable.

Similarly, they provide transportation to Maharloo Lake (known as Pink Lake), about an hour from Shiraz, for $10. This salt lake is a spectacular spot where the water surface turns pink during certain seasons. Located about an hour from downtown Shiraz, the hotel’s affordable transportation service allowed me to visit during golden hour.
They also provide foreign currency exchange to Iranian Rial and SIM card sales. Since exchange offices at Shiraz Airport are often closed, being able to exchange money at the hotel was very helpful.

The Owner is Simply a Wonderful Person
Owner Jalal and his wife, along with the staff, are fluent in English, so there are no communication concerns. Moreover, they cheerfully guided me around the hotel while sharing jokes.
Jalal originally lived in Tehran but moved to Shiraz a few years ago seeking a more relaxed environment. Thanks to hearing about Shiraz’s charm as “the most Iranian city” from him, I feel this trip became much more fulfilling.
Conclusion: Create the Best Memories in an Old Town Hidden Gem
Shiraz’s “Shiraz Traditional Hotel” is an ideal accommodation for both travelers who want to capture beautiful photos and those seeking deep cultural experiences. The room itself is so beautiful it could be called a tourist attraction, and once you stay there, you’ll surely be captivated by its charm.
If I have the opportunity to visit Shiraz again, I would definitely stay here without hesitation. And I’d like to stay longer to spend more leisurely time in the beautiful room and courtyard.
I wholeheartedly recommend this to those who love beautiful architecture and spaces, and those who want to deeply experience Iranian tradition and culture.
